Rick studied saxophone at the University of North Carolina from 1981-1986 with Dr. Frank Borngiorno.
Rick's music career spans more than 25 years as a respected saxophonist, educator, director, composer and arranger. His many performances in diverse musical settings allow him to be well versed in a variety of musical styles and traditions including Classical, Jazz, R&B, Latin, and Gospel.
Ray Charles, Taj Mahal, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers are some of the renowned artists Rick has had the privilege to accompany. Rick has performed extensively as saxophonist, flutist, and featured vocalist for musical productions at various theaters in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Florida and the Bahamas.
Rick was a featured composer for the North Carolina Composers Alliance concert series and has since compiled numerous compositions, arrangements and orchestrations for musical productions, jazz ensembles, bands, and Choirs.
Rick and his beloved wife currently live in North Carolina.
